WEP is a wireless security protocol for routers. Most modern routers use WPA security, however. A DS lite wouldn't help, since it's the game that is incompatible with your internet security. And yes....

Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, or Soulsilver require WEP or worse wifi connnections.DS classic or DS lite also do. For WPA you have to play B/W/B2/W2 while using a DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, or 2DS.
